Audra Grierson

ABT NTC Fellow, A.R.A.D., B.A. Honors Dance, R.A.D.-R.T.S., S.R.B. Assoc.

Audra Grierson received her professional training at L’Ecole supérieure de danse du Quebec and her dance education at the University of Waterloo where she received her Honours B.A. in Dance with Honours.  She performed with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, the Windsor City Ballet Company (including gala performances with National Ballet of Canada and the Toyota City Ballet Company) and the Elizabeth Paterson Dance Company.

As founder and artistic director of the Classical Dance Conservatory in Waterloo for 19 years, she taught ballet from ages 3 to adult, created a Preschool curriculum for her school, founded the Terpsichore Dance Company (a children’s dance company) and worked for Drayton Entertainment as children’s chorus coordinator for their annual Christmas pantomimes.  Her students have gone on to train in many renowned professional and post secondary institutions including Canada’s National Ballet School, Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, L’Ecole supèrieure de ballet du Québec, the Alvin Ailey School, Quinte Ballet School, George Brown and York University.  

Mrs Grierson professional development and teacher training includes the Bolshoi Ballet Academy Teacher’s Certification NYC, Canada’s National Ballet School, American Ballet Theatre ABT NTC program, the Royal Academy of Dance, the Society of Russian ballet and the Central Pennsylvania Youth ballet.  She is a Fellow with the ABT NTC, an Associate member of the Royal Academy of Dance, and the Society of Russian ballet, holds the R.A.D. Advanced Certificate and is a Certified Teacher with Diploma with the R.A.D. She holds the Elementary Certificate in Benesh Movement Notation, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance Elementary level in the Cecchetti ballet division and the Advanced level in Modern. She is also a certified Pilates instructor, a licensed Kindermusik educator, certified Acrobatic Arts instructor Level 1 and Alixa Flexibility levels 1 and 2. 

Audra is excited to continue sharing her love of ballet with students of all ages at Swansea School of Dance.
