Lights, Camera, Action

Things are buzzing around the studio as we gear up for our end of the year recital, The Little Mermaid. All classes will be filming their recital dance during class time, the week of May 31st – June 5th. Prepare to do a dress rehearsal the week before, to test out those costumes and your filming angles. Speaking of costumes, they continue to be picked up and delivered, watch your email for updates if you haven’t received yours yet. If you missed your costume pick-up day, please email Miss Shar to arrange a pick-up shar@swanseaschoolofdance.com

All of our classes are focusing this month on rehearsing and refining recital choreography and learning the finale choreography that will be performed by the entire school.

Grad Feature – Brooke Abbott
By Ms Christy

I can remember teaching Brooke, Modern 1/2, in 2010. It was a small class to start the year and if memory serves me well, there were days when it was just Brooke, Mr. Al on drums and myself. What I remember most is that the three of us had the best time together!

As the years rolled on Brooke studied ballet, tap and jazz along with modern dance. From day one, she was a determined, thoughtful and mature student. Brooke picked up choreography quickly and has always stepped-up to a challenge. It was clear from a young age the Brooke had a natural gift for dance.

Miss. Brooke participated in our assistants program and was an excellent role model to many young students over the years. Brooke’s calm demeanor and sense of humour make her an approachable and fun person to have in class. I know that all of her dance friends and classmates would agree.

Best of luck to you Brooke, we look forward to seeing what the future has in store. Please keep in touch, you know where to find us.

Happy Mother’s Day

Wishing all of the SSOD Mom’s a restful and happy day. Thank you for supporting your child’s love of dance.
