Introduce your child to the world of dance

Dance lessons are a wonderful way for young children to be active and creative, and experience their first classroom environment. Our students are encouraged to become strong technical dancers while they explore and expand their creativity, and develop self-confidence.

Every lesson is focused on music, movement and fun! Our Pre-school Program teaches 3 and 4 year olds music and dance fundamentals through nursery rhymes, songs and games. Students enhance their coordination, locomotive and mental development. They explore movement possibilities and begin to develop body and space awareness through dance and play. Children not only have fun in this animated dance class, but also learn important skills that enable a logical and easy progression into building technique for future music and dance programs.

2 Year Old Music & Movement

Caregiver and Tot

This program is an introduction to dance for our very youngest dancers and their caregivers. The students go on adventures to magical places and experience music and movement along the way.

Plié. Chassé. Jeté. All day.

Adults and children alike will love building on a foundation of basic movements set to beautiful music as they grow their strength and abilities.

Students ages 5 and up learn to perfect their ballet technique following the style and syllabus of either the Society of Russian Ballet or the Royal Academy of Dance. Our focus is on developing classical technique, artistry and performance quality for a well-rounded classical ballet training experience.

Students who take ballet classes build self-control, body awareness and self discipline as they learn to master increasingly technical moves.

Experience the energy of jazz!

This popular and dynamic style is taught in a positive environment to all age groups. Jazz is enjoyable for any dancer who just wants to get moving!

Classical and commercial Jazz technique are taught and supplemented with core strengthening and flexibility exercises. Jazz lessons at Swansea School of Dance are taught by experienced and encouraging instructors. Book a free trial today.

Make music with your feet!

Rhythm tap, broadway tap, music theory, improvisation and history. This program has it all. Mastering the art of tap dance can help with coordination, rhythm, musicality and agility.

Open your soul and connect to the earth!

Modern dance requires students to build a strong technical foundation. Our program focuses on a variety of modern techniques including Limon and Graham. Using music and other art forms as inspiration, students work on movement phrases and develop their own sense of creativity. These classes are accompanied by live musicians.

Pop, Lock and Break

Hip Hop is certainly addictive. This powerful, high-energy class focuses on technique, history and choreography.

Our students build physical strength and self-confidence in a fun and encouraging atmosphere.

Challenge your strength, and focus!

Acro is thrilling to learn. Students must commit to building their strength and foundation skills before progressing to more impressive moves. A combination of dance and acro, this class emphasizes strength, balance and flexibility to develop students’ physical abilities and spatial awareness. Headstands, handstands, cartwheels, rolls and walkovers are just some of the skills learned.

In Silks, students explore movement in the air using fabric (“silks”) and rope, and learn how to climb and manoeuvre circus skills on these apparatuses with our highly trained silks instructors, that take you from beginner all the way to advanced.

Classes take place in studios with sprung floors, and with added equipment and safety is always a priority. Introduce your child to the excitement of stretching, jumping and tumbling at Swansea School of Dance.

To participate in acro students must be enrolled in at least one other technique class: ballet, jazz, modern, tap or hip hop. To participate in Silks we highly recommend a 2nd class.

For love of music and movement

Lyrical is an excellent addition to your child’s schedule if they can’t get enough of their dance lessons and love to express their emotions while out on the dance floor.

Embodying aspects of ballet, jazz and acro, lyrical brings your child’s skills together in beautiful dance routines with an emotional connection to the lyrics of songs heard on your favourite playlist. (Students must be enrolled in at least one ballet class per week in order to enrol in Lyrical).

Let’s get moving!

Boys dance classes at Swansea School of Dance create a positive, judgement-free environment where boys can be themselves and learn awesome dance moves!

This popular class is a safe and fun space to get moving and burn off excess energy. Our male dancers work towards developing an understanding of the foundation of dance and movement.

Challenged creatively and physically, boys can feel free to dance and move at a pace that is in accordance with how boys learn. We love teaching our boys class and can’t wait to welcome your child.

Act, Sing and Dance!

Our musical theatre program draws from a mix of jazz, tap, contemporary and modern dance skills. Students combine their love of song with dance in these energetic and diverse classes.

Available for children ages 7-13, these lessons have a focus on fun!

Jump, twirl and glide to some of Broadway’s most memorable tunes.
