Michelle Fox grew up as a competitive gymnast and transitioned into dance where she began extensive training in ballet, jazz and contemporary. She graduated from Ryerson University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts program with a major in Performance Dance. After graduation, she performed as a company member with Cadence Progressive Contemporary Ballet for several seasons before going on to start her own contemporary company, Intrinsic Dance Project. With Intrinsic, she performed works for Nuit Blanche, dance festivals, weddings, fashion shows, music videos, showcases and commissioned pieces across Canada.
Michelle Fox is a highly sought after and well respected Toronto choreographer and educator. She is a member with the Society of Russian Ballet and the Acro Dance Teachers Association. Michelle is best known in the dance industry for her passion, artistic vision and creative, award-winning choreography. She strives to inspire and encourage dancers of all levels, ages, colours, genders and backgrounds to find their passion and express it on stage with conviction and purpose. In her spare time, she is a dance advocate bringing awareness to important issues within the dance industry that will make it a more inclusive place (you can check her out on instagram @the.progressive.dance.advocate). Michelle is grateful to be able to share her love of dance and she hopes it enables dancers to continue pursuing their goals.
